Blue October with special guest The Parlotones is coming to the Bakersfield Fox Theater Sunday September 19 as a part of their "Pick Up The Phone" West Coast Tour! Blue October isn't just your average, everyday rock band from Texas. The group was formed in Houston in the late '90s by lead singer/songwriter/guitarist Justin Furstenfeld, his drummer brother Jeremy, multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye, and later joined by guitarist/vocalist CB Hudson and bassist Matt Noveskey. The group's epic live shows and exploration of subjects like mental depression, drug use, love, betrayal, forgiveness, and cathartic transcendence have helped them amass a strong, loyal following through five albums.

In celebration of the Fox Theater’s 80th Anniversary, the Fox Theater Foundation is partnering with the Spotlight Theatre to bring a fifth production of Bakersfield’s Own Musical “MAGGIE,” A Love Story on November 12, 13, and 14, 2010 to the stage!

Written by Bakersfield natives Ann Agabashian (music), Owner of House of Comfort, and the late Barbara Gardner, (script) MAGGIE is the true love story of Maggie Mooney of Tehachapi and Lord Douglas of London, England in the late 1800’s.

How did Lord Douglas get to Bakersfield? How was oil discovered? Who planted the first cotton seed? And who bought worthless land for a staggering (at the time) $ 5.00 per acre? The answer lies in the production of MAGGIE.

Tickets go on sale Friday August 27 @ 10AM.
